Watch this space for Your Community Centre Week 2026!

Your Community Centre Week 2026 is coming back – and we’re excited to start planning the event. Likely returning in September 2026, YCCW will once again shine a spotlight on the vital role community centres play in bringing people together, supporting wellbeing and strengthening neighbourhoods across the borough. It’s a chance to celebrate the spaces that sit at the heart of local life.

Plans for 2026 are currently taking shape, and we’ll be sharing more details later this year. Expect opportunities to get involved, volunteer and celebrate everything that makes community centres so special. For now, save the date for September and check back here for updates as we count down to Your Community Centre Week 2026.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM YCCW 2025

Your Community Centre Week 2025 was a wonderful celebration of community spirit, connection and dancing across the borough.

Between 22–28 September 2025, residents came together to enjoy a vibrant programme of events that showcased the heart and soul of local community centres. From lively dance sessions and seated discos to family-friendly Zumba and traditional tea dances, the week’s activities brought people of all ages together, encouraging movement, wellbeing and fun. Whether participants joined in a walking tango at Greenwood Community Centre or tried flamenco and line dancing at The Avenue Club in Kew, the programme truly reflected the rich diversity of offerings local centres provide.

The highlight of the week was the much-loved Vintage Routemaster Bus tours that invited the community to explore ten independent centres around Richmond upon Thames. These tours offered not just transport between hubs, but also live music, delicious locally sourced cream teas, and engaging commentary that brought the borough’s story to life. Residents had the chance to meet new friends, reconnect with neighbours and discover services and activities they might not have known were available right on their doorstep. It was a joyous reminder of how these spaces support wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and create a sense of belonging for so many
